Gil attended the University of California Santa Barbara. While attending the University, he worked as an R&D Engineering Technician at Applied Magnetics, where he designed floppy heads and disc drives. He later accepted a position with Sona-Tech where he developed listening devices for the Trident Submarine Program. That eventually led him to executive management at both Nothrop Grumman and Teledyne Microelectronics. In his tech-savvy career, Gil has negotiated missle, avionics, guidance and surveillance systems with the U.S. Government, Department of Defense, Ballistic Missle Office of the U.S. Air Force.
Seeking a new outlet for his boundless initiative, Gil turned his love of Big Game Sport Fishing into a full business, move to Los Cabos, Mexico, where he established a major sport-fishing business and travel company. Ever the overachiever, he soon became the U.S. Representative and U.S. Sales Manager for four major resorts in the Los Cabos area. He appeared on Fox TV and ESPN/KABC Radio (Ronnie Kovach's Fishing Expeditions), as the Ambassador of Baja's East Cape Fishing. Gil has written more than 50 articles on fishing and catching marlin, giant tuna and dorado for Big Game Journal, West Coast Sport Fishing Magazine, and Western Outdoor News. Gil currently resides in Thousand Oaks with his two daughters. He has brought his love of big business and big fish to to Amber Hotel Company.
